In 2015 at 19 she published her first debut single Here. This song received praise both from listeners and critics. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among 2015's Best Songs. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top spots on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. The song is special because it was based on an interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners shared their experiences of doubting herself and learning how to appreciate herself. Cara's music has been praised for her messages of love in self-love, and mental wellbeing. Everything stems from her life experience, as she suffered from mental health problems and insomnia. In a conversation with Reuters she described her album as "half turbulent" and "half done". She says that she developed through therapy, and encourages others to seek help when necessary. Alessia Cara is a Canadian performer who was born on July 11 1996 to parents from Italian descent. The parents of her gave her an instrument at barely 10 years old. This sparked her enthusiasm for music. In the age of 13 she began covering music she loved on YouTube in order to show her fans that she had the talent to be a singer and determined to pursue music as a profession. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was what made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and record her own tracks.
