Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a sleepy part of Montreal Island known as West Island. It is the West Island, to those not familiar with it, is a vast part that stretches from Lachine all the way west. Amanda Brugel grew up on the West Island, and it is commonly known as the place where she was born. But she only was there for a brief period of time. Brugel grew to be a woman of a certain age in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. She aspired to be a professional dancer, but due to an explosive increase in her height, she outgrew the dance partners she had. The article she wrote about her experience revealed written by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. After I outgrew the male dancers, I decided to quit. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the case of Brugel, it was a suggestion from her high school teacher in drama. It was the teacher who recommended she go after a role in the annual school production. She was the teacher who suggested that she pursue a part the annual school production. The show was granted a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Over the past 20 years, her roles in the world of television and on the screen have been varied. The role of Rita in the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel is the only Canadian actress in the season 1 and was only seen occasionally.
